ChristmasFuture Naming Contest

Following the success of our 2007 year, ChristmasFuture is excited to announce that in the summer of 2008 we will launch a year-round giving website. This site will display the same projects as our holiday-focused site, but will be more versatile, allowing people to refocus gifts for birthdays, weddings, and other events—all for the purpose of eradicating extreme poverty.

I want you to help name this year-round giving project. This is a chance for you to help name an organization that will be making a big difference for years to come. We’re continuing to pursue a large vision, so the name will also serve to be the key name associated with our activities. ChristmasFuture will be like an iPod, and the year-round site will be like our Apple.

How to Enter

(1) Read about the values and characteristics of our organization below.
(2) Email your name suggestions to leif.baradoy@christmasfuture.org (limit of three names per entrant).
(3) Entries must be received by 12:00 a.m. (midnight) on Thursday, March 13, 2008.

Prize
$100 giftcard for the ChristmasFuture website

About the Name
The name should reflect our organizational values of justice, empowerment, choice, transparency, human connection and simplicity.

The name should also reflect our personality. Traits that describe us include:

  • Pioneering
  • Creative
  • Smart
  • Approachable
  • Trustworthy

Key advantages of giving through our organization are:

  • Empowered giving — choice of projects, locations, etc.
  • Proof of impact – see evidence of change
  • Transparent organization, which shows rather than tells
  • Holistic community approaches, for sustainable change

Ultimately, our organization helps donors see that their choice matters – they can see change happen.
